The Marol Academy

The Marol Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting sustainable education in South Sudan.

Our first project is the Marol School which opened on May 7, 2008, in the rural village of Marol,Warrap State, South Sudan. The current enrollment of over 600 students includes both girls and boys.

The Marol Academy Board of Directors believes that to build a nation, both boys and girls must be educated equally.

We recently received a generous Grant from the Metablolic Studio, which will support the salaries of the 18 primary school teachers. Read more here.

Read updates from our founder's recent arrival to South Sudan in early 2016.

In 2015 we welcomed two new members to our board of directors. Read brief biographies of Patricia Forbes and Peter Buhler here.

It’s our privilege and honor to establish The Edwin and Annemarie Buhler Memorial Fund, at the request of Director Peter Buhler, PhD. Funds will support the education of young people attending the Marol Academy Primary School in rural South Sudan.
